The RSE BSB implements the Project Management System

 

The Banking Service Bureau has been the contractor of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan since its establishment in 1996. This fact required from the RSE BSB to be always up to the mark and improve continuously its operating procedures both within the company and with its customers. Therefore, the RSE BSB regularly conducts trainings for its employees, takes part in conferences and presentations of the world leading designers and certifies itself in different areas.

On January 28, 2003 the RSE BSB was granted with ISO 9001 certificate for achievements in software development and rendering software support services. In order to be granted with this certificate a lot of work had to be done in RSE BSB: quality management system was created, the full list of quality system procedures was prepared, unified coding and documentation rules were set, etc.

The next step in production optimization was the process of project management system installation. The management of the Company took this step consciously, because they felt the need for information system that would let them take strategic initiatives in customer relationships, open new business trends, improve organizational structures and conquer new segments of the market. The system is supposed to let the management of the company have more detailed information on the projects, analyze the project portfolio more thoroughly, allocate resources more efficiently and as a result improve the quality of services that are rendered to the customers.

The RSE BSB chose the Microsoft Project system, which according to the Gartner Group assessment, was recognized as a leader in the management system market. Today Microsoft owns 75% of the project management system market. The corporate systems of such famous organizations as Deutsche Bank, Merrill-Lynch and Delphi Automotive were implemented based on the Microsoft Project platform. In order to have a successful system installation the plan of actions was prepared together with specialists of “LANIT” Holding.

At the first stage the Company’s observation survey (i.e. survey of the organization structure, existing business processes and personnel qualification) was conducted. The results showed that the company is fully ready for implementation of the project management system.

At the second stage the employees were trained to operate the MS Project; new schemes of business process project management were developed in accordance with a definite strategy of the Company; the RSE BSB Auxiliary requirements were collected and a new project structure was developed. One of the challenging and responsible decisions that were made by the management was review of Company’s organization chart as it required a new approach to resource management system.

The third stage was completed at the end of December. At this stage the information system was installed in the RSE BSB and the “Pilot” version of the project management system were implemented.

The RSE BSB started the New Year with a new organizational structure and the new approach to the project management.
