Automated information subsystem
“Data Warehouse for a Full-Scale Project. First stage”

Purpose:
The subsystem has been designed to be used in the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan
The subsystem provides solution of analytical problems and support decision making process. The objects of the analysis are the reporting and statistical data received from the second-tier banks.
Goals of the subsystem creation:
§
to ensure high operational efficiency and reliability when analyzing financial and statistical data provided by the second-tier banks;
§
to maintain the unified information base on the basis of the data warehouse that contains complete, consistent and generalized information about the activities of the second-tier banks;
§
to create a system to analyze the activities of the second-tier banks using technologies of the on-line analytical processing;
§
to ensure the required level of organization and information security of the NBRK departments that deals with the analysis of activities of the second-tier banks.
Configuration:
The subsystem has in its configuration a program module to perform ETL processes and universes of the Business Objects analytical package that represent a semantic layer of the data warehouse. The data warehouse has been realized on the Sybase IQ 12. Module of ETL process execution uses the operating data warehouse realized on Oracle 8.1.7.
Ergonomics and aesthetics:
The software ergonomic solutions ensure convenience and efficiency for the users. Program module of ETL process execution has been realized as MS Windows application and has a graphic user interface. Business Objects universes are the objects of storage in the form of data domain class applying the user-comprehensible terminology.
Architecture:
It is a client-server architecture that enables working in the local network using the TCP/IP protocol..
Module of ETL process execution enables the user:

to unload reference and real-time data from the databases;
§
to unify the reference directories;
§
to transform real-time data to download to the data warehouse;
§
to download reference and real-time data to the data warehouse;
§
to control the executed ETL operations.

Auxiliary software:
To operate the subsystem it is necessary to use Oracle 8i Standard Edition software or higher, Sybase IQ 12, Business Objects, and Microsoft Excel 2000.
Information security
is provided by the DBMS Oracle, DBSM Sybase IQ 12 and “Supervisor” module of the Business Objects analytical package. The following functions are realized in the Business Objects analytical package: authorization of users with assignment of logins and passwords to them and restriction of the user access rights to the objects of the data warehouse.
Standard package:
It includes a compact disk containing software for the module of ETL process execution, Business Objects Universes and documentation in the Russian language.
Installation terms:
Installation and training will take at least one month.
Technical Support
Warranty technical support (during three months after commissioning) and after-warranty support (at the customer’s wish based on the contractual agreement). The following services are provided within the framework of technical support

Correction of program errors identified during the process of software exploitation;
§
Consulting services for the customers concerning application of the software;
§
Delivery of the updated software;
§
Consulting services in the event of substandard situations.
Customization:
Customization is possible (subject to the Auxiliary discussion).
