Automated information subsystem
“Automation of activities related to preparation of the NBRK consolidated balance sheet with account of its subsidiaries”

Purpose:
The subsystem has been designed to be used in the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan and NBRK subsidiaries
The subsystem ensures automation if such processes as reception, control and processing of financial information from the NBRK subsidiaries (general ledgers, reconciliation reports, supporting financial reports) and preparation of consolidated financial reporting of the NBRK subsidiaries according to regulatory acts of NBRK.
The unique characteristics of the system are as follows:
§
receipt of statements from organizations in Excel format, which is convenient to prepare statements of subsidiaries;
§
ability to send messages to organizations about errors in receipt of reports (communication with the subsidiaries is maintained through VIDO2 (FASTI) communicational software);
§
receipt of information from “Kubazh-3C” external information system (the NBRK glossaries and data);
§
saving of history while keeping directories;
§
availability of an audit journal to tracking user actions related to making changes in the directories.
Configuration:
The subsystem consists of separate modules such as:
§
“Administrator” module,
§
“Economist” module,
§
“Communication Terminal” module.
Ergonomics and aesthetics:
The software ergonomic solutions ensure convenience and efficiency for the users. Regulatory and reference data are formed in all cases where it is possible to unify data and replace manual entry with selection of value from the list offered by the subsystem applications. The fast-access retrieval and sorting is foreseen over specified attributes.
Architecture:
It is a client-server architecture that enables working in the local or corporate network using the TCP/IP protocol.
ÀÐÌ ”Administrator” Module enables the user:
§
to add new users to the system by assigning logins and passwords;
§
to assign the user access rights to the items of the database and functions of the system;
§
to block the user access to the data and functions of the Automated information system;
§
to examine and print out audit journals of the operations in the system directories;
§
to set up the user inactivity period to disconnect the user from access to the database;
§
to fix the AIS operational standards related to the system service functions (e.g. the period for changing the passwords by users, installation-cancellation of the opportunity to assert data in separate modes, permission to assert information to references by users, etc.).
“Economist” module enables the user:
§
to log in to the system;
§
to fill in and to keep the data reference directories;
§
to monitor information entered;
§
to build worksheets for consolidation and elimination;
§
to consolidate and eliminate the NBRK balance sheet taking into account the balance sheets of the NBRK subsidiaries;
§
to review entered information stored in the database;
§
to obtain necessary consolidated statements and print them out;
§
to change personal password according to the specified of password validity.
”Communication Terminal” module enables the user:
§
to receive information through the dial-up-channels by means of the VIDO 2 communication software;
§
to receive information from “Kubazh-3C” system;
§
to change subsystem settings;
§
to delete the received information when needed;
§
to review files of reports and messages;
§
to create and send random messages to the NBRK subsidiaries.

Auxiliary software:
To operate the subsystem it is necessary to use Oracle 8.1.7 Enterprise Edition software or higher, and Microsoft Excel 2000.
Information security:
is maintained by means of the Oracle DBMS and “Administrator” module. The following functions are realized in the subsystem: authorization of users by assigning them logins and passwords, module authentication and restriction of the user access rights to the data and functions of the subsystem.
Standard package:
It includes a compact disk containing software for the “Administrator”, “Economist” and “Communication Terminal” modules and a manual in Russian language.
Installation terms:
Installation and training of users will take at least a week.
Technical Support:
Warranty technical support (during three months after commissioning) and after-warranty support (at the customer’s wish based on the contractual agreement). The following services are provided within the framework of technical support
§
Correction of program errors identified during the process of software exploitation;
§
Consulting services for the customers concerning application of the software;
§
Delivery of the updated software;
§
Consulting services in the event of substandard situations.
Customization:
Customization is possible (subject to the Auxiliary discussion).
Currently the system is operating in:

The State enterprise “The National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan”;
§
JSC “Kazakhstan Mortgage Company”.
